The island of Djerba in Tunisia is a pearl in the Tunisian and Mediterranean touristic landscape but its fame in not only due to the beauty of its landscapes and the purity of its air or the calmness that reigns there. Its charm is the implicit result of a glorious past and a socio-cultural richness which dissolved throughout the centuries and the generations within ingenious knowhow and savoir vivre that gave the island a strong identity.

This heritage is threatened by a muting Djerbian society giving in to the changes imposed by its epoch.
